ZIIP Basics

How does ZIIP work +

Every ZIIP device is powered by ZIIP Dual Waveform Technology, which harnesses the power of low-voltage electricity, both microcurrent and ZIIP nanocurrent™ waveforms, to give powerful facials. These two wavelengths work in harmony with your body to give multiple skincare benefits:

  • Microcurrent: stimulates the muscles in your face to work, like in a gym workout, which in turn lifts, tones and sculpts your skin. This is the waveform that gives an immediate effect.
  • ZIIP Nanocurrent™: tiny electrical currents, this waveform works on a cellular level, triggering the production of the chemical ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). This chemical, which naturally declines as we age, is responsible for giving energy to the cells that they need to repair and replenish. By stimulating the production of this chemical, over time ZIIP nanocurrent™ gives a brighter, more rejuvenated complexion and reduces signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles.  

The results from Dual Waveform Technology, unlike other EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) devices are long-lasting, and even the most sensitive skin types can tolerate and respond well to ZIIP nanocurrent™ intelligent energy.

When will I see results? +

Most users see some immediate lifting results after a single treatment. However, it depends on your skin, your concerns, and your usage. We recommend using up to 5 times a week for at least 6 weeks to start seeing the long term effects.

SHOULD I FEEL THE ELECTRICAL WAVELENGTHS? +

If you’re new to ZIIP, the sensation can feel a bit strange at first, but feeling the electrical ‘buzz’ is completely normal when using a ZIIP device, and you may experience some muscle reflexes when the globes come in contact with the muscles. Don’t worry, this is part of the ZIIP experience and feeling this buzz lets you know your ZIIP is working its magic.

ZIIP Halo

How do I turn on my ZIIP Halo? +

Press the raised circular button on the bottom of your ZIIP HALO device. It will beep once to let you know it is on. All lights will briefly flash and then the band will lightly glow, waiting for you to make contact with your skin.

How do I start my first treatment? +

The ZIIP HALO requires no app connection to use THE LIFT, a 4-minute facial. Simply turn on your device, apply gel liberally to your face and neck, and touch the globes to your skin. The ZIIP HALO will glow brighter when in contact with your skin, and that tells your treatment has started. 

Starting on one side of your face at the neck, move your device up and out towards the edge of the face, and when you feel the vibration, repeat this movement slightly further up the face. When you hear the beep that means you’re halfway through your treatment, and you should move to the other side of your face and repeat the movements mentioned above.

Will my ZIIP Halo turn off automatically? +

Yes, once your ZIIP treatment is complete, for both THE LIFT or when synced with a treatment through the ZIIP Beauty App, the device will beep twice and automatically switch off.

How do I know when to charge my ZIIP Halo? +

The ZIIP HALO band will glow orange when your device needs charging.

What comes with my ZIIP Halo? +

Every ZIIP HALO comes with a USB-C charger, 50ml Electric Complex Gel and a User Guide.

Do I need to download the ZIIP app to use my ZIIP Halo? +

No, you can experience the benefits of ZIIP HALO wherever you are without needing to connect to the app. Simply pick up and lift.

The ZIIP Beauty App can be used to unlock more expert treatments, targeted facials & plans, all with guided video tutorials.

Where should ZIIP not be used? +

ZIIP should not be used directly on top of the eye, at the centre of the neck, or on the chest, breasts or groin. It should also not be used on skin that is raised, bleeding, or painful to the touch.

ZIIP GX & OX

How do I turn on my ZIIP GX or ZIIP OX? +

Press the circular button on top of the ZIIP GX or OX device. It will beep once to let you know it is on. All lights will briefly flash and go out, waiting for you to make contact with your skin.

How do I start my first treatment? +

First, wash and dry your face. Then apply a generous amount of conductive gel. Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of our app, which you can download for free from the App Store or the Google Play Store. Open your app and tap Select a New Treatment. Choose one, and ZIIP. Our founder Melanie Simon will walk you through each treatment with step-by-step videos accessible within our app.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

Can I ZIIP If...

Can I use ZIIP after cosmetic injections and/or laser treatments? +

We recommend waiting 10 days after receiving an injectable or laser procedure before using ZIIP. Please consult your physician with further questions.

Can I use ZIIP if I have dental implants/braces? +

There are no known issues with using ZIIP with dental implants/braces. Please consult your dentist with further questions.

Can I use ZIIP if I have a pacemaker? +

ZIIP is not recommended for those with cardiac implants, such as cardiac pacemakers, implanted defibrillators/stimulators or electronic implanted devices. Please consult your doctor with further questions.

Can I use ZIIP if I have or have had cancer, or am undergoing chemotherapy? +

ZIIP is not recommended for those with active cancer, or for those undergoing chemotherapy. We recommend that cancer survivors consult their physician before beginning ZIIP treatments as a matter of precaution. Please consult your physician with further questions.

Can I use ZIIP while pregnant or breastfeeding? +

We recommend that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding do not use ZIIP. Please consult your physician for more information.

Can I use ZIIP if I have epilepsy? +

ZIIP is not recommended for those with epilepsy. Please consult your physician for more information.

Can I use ZIIP if I have Rosacea? +

Yes, you can use ZIIP if you have rosacea, with a few caveats. The most compatible electrical treatment for you would be Founder's Favorite, which is all nanocurrent. Don’t use on any areas of skin that is raised, bleeding, painful to the touch, broken or excessively red. Move lightly and quickly over the areas of the face where redness is most prominent (typically centre of cheeks, nose, etc.), and limit treatment to every other day. You may also want to try Silver Gel, which is a favourite among those with sensitive skin.

Can I use ZIIP with retin-a? +

Absolutely, but not at the same time. On the nights that you use Retin-A, do not ZIIP. On the nights that you ZIIP, do not use Retin-A

Can I use ZIIP with facial piercings/modifications? +

Yes, ZIIP can be used with metal piercings/implants; however, the piercing area should be avoided as much as possible.

Can I use ZIIP with facial hair? +

It’s best to avoid using ZIIP on areas where there is facial hair. The hair acts as a blocker to ZIIP’s electrical currents. We recommend using ZIIP on a clean-shaven face, but if you do have a beard and/or moustache, you can adjust any of the treatments to avoid those areas, or use the Eyes or Brow Lift targeted treatments, which do not include the lower face and jaw area.

The ZIIP App

How do I get the ZIIP App? +

The ZIIP App is a free app available in the Apple App store and the Google Play store. It can be used on iPhones, iPads, and Android phones.

How do I sync a treatment to my device? +

1. Turn on your phone/tablet.
2. Open the ZIIP Beauty App & Select a treatment.3. Turn on your nearby ZIIP device.
4. Choose desired treatment, then click "Start Treatment."
5. When successfully synced, your device will beep/flash 3x.6. Your screen will then prompt you to "Press play to begin treatment." Press play.
7. Apply a conductive gel, or if you have already, skip ahead & begin. treatment.

What apple devices is ZIIP compatible with? +

ZIIP is compatible with any Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running on iOS 14.1 or later. Please contact support@ziipbeauty.com with any further questions.

What android devices is ZIIP compatible with? +

Because of the vast amount of makes/models of Android devices, we will not list every compatible device here. However, ZIIP is generally compatible with Android makes/models that are running Android version 5.0 and up.

How do I connect my Android device to the ZIIP app? +

Firstly, download the ZIIP Beauty app on the Google Play store.

If you are struggling to sync the device to the app, this may be due to your settings. On Android devices, device location and Bluetooth are tied together by the Operating System (OS). In order to connect with Bluetooth devices like ZIIP, Android requires that you have location permission turned ON.

To make sure that "Location Permissions" is switched ON:

On your Android device, open the Settings app.
Tap Apps & notifications.
Find the ZIIP Beauty app (typically last on the list).
Tap Permissions. If a permission is turned off, the switch next to it will be gray, make sure that the ZIIP app is turned ON (the slider will show as blue)
Try using the ZIIP app again.

Maintenance & Care

How do I clean my ZIIP? +

To clean your ZIIP microcurrent device we recommend that you use isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth to wipe down your ZIIP removing all gel after every use.

After every use, with a soft cloth, wipe your ZIIP free of gel. Then lightly spray your clean cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe your ZIIP down paying close attention to cleaning around the globes, the white silicone and around the band that is around the ZIIP making sure to remove any gel residue, then wipe off with a dry cloth before storing.

Please keep your ZIIP away from water or any other liquids (including excessive amounts of conductive gel), dampness or debris. DO NOT submerge your ZIIP HALO in water, place in the dishwasher or apply abrasive cleaners/chemicals.

When using your ZIIP, be sure to keep the charging port free of any conductive gel. This will help ensure your ZIIP HALO continues to perform at its best.

How do I charge my ZIIP? +

When the device needs to be charged, the band around the center of the device will glow orange.

To charge, insert the USB-A to USB-C charging cable into a USB power adapter(not supplied), then plug the other end into your ZIIP HALO device. (Do not attempt to use device while charging.)

If the device is completely drained of its battery and does not power on, plug in the device and press the power on button to activate charging.

During charging, the band will glow orange. The device will take up to 4 hours to charge. Once fully charged, the orange light will switch off.

Can I use any USB-C cable to charge my ZIIP? +

No, you cannot unfortunately. ZIIP HALO comes with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable - other types of charging cables are not compatible. If you have lost this cable, you can purchase at any electronics retailer (example purchase link).

What should I do if I lose my charging cable? +

ZIIP HALO comes with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable - other types of charging cables are not compatible. If you have lost this cable, you can purchase at any electronics retailer.ZIIP is not compatible with Apple adapters, Apple cables, and PD (power delivery)/fast-charging/lightning adapters, because they can send too much energy into the ZIIP. Please check and ensure that your adapter/charger has standard 5V output and does not use any fast-charging technology.
